Autologous Serum Eyedrops, sometimes called ASED, are a specialty eye drop made from a patient’s own blood. These drops are used to treat a variety of ocular surface disorders, including:
Autologous Serum Drops are custom-made for each patient using their own blood. After the blood is drawn in our office, it is allowed to clot. Once this process is complete, the serum must be stored in the freezer, where it will last for 6 months.
