Dr. Laura Kearsley, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist who received her degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine. She went on to complete an internship in Family Medicine and fellowship in ocular pathology at the University of Utah. She received her ophthalmology training at the University of Utah and went on to get specialty training in Cornea/External disease and Refractive surgery at the University of California, San Diego.
Since finishing her training, she spent 12 years working for the Kaiser Permanente medical system in both Kahului, Hawaii and San Francisco, California. There she developed additional skills to complete a truly comprehensive approach to ophthalmology care that includes medical retina, cornea, glaucoma, medical treatments for strabismus and amblyopia. In addition, she has functioned as the oculoplastic surgeon for Kaiser San Francisco patients for 9 years with experience in eyelid surgery from a range of ethnic backgrounds and eyelid variations.
She has been in and out of Alaska, specifically Cordova for the last 7 years and has decided in 2021 to make the move to this state more permanent.
