Ocular Coherency Tomography (OCT)
The OCT is a noninvasive test used to scan the back of the eye (retina). Dr. Johnson uses the newest high-definition machine to test for macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, as well as many other conditions. This machine is also used to track glaucoma and detect progression at the earliest possible stage.
Dr. Johnson provides superior photographic equipment to aid in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease. This includes fluorescein angiography, which is necessary to appropriately diagnose many conditions of the retina. She also the only ophthalmologist in Alaska who offers slit lamp photography.
Mountain View Eye Center offers a state-of-the-art imaging center with multiple specialized modalities. These include corneal topography, ocular ultrasound and automated visual field. Additionally, Dr. Johnson uses only the most accurate automated techniques for selection of optimal lens implants during cataract surgery.
